About Our Ministries
The purpose of this site is to provide the members of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral with a comprehensive picture of the various ministries that make up the fabric of our church community. In compiling this information, what emerged was the surprisingly broad scope of missions, programs, and services that benefit not only our parishioners but reach beyond the bounds of our own community.
This is especially exemplified by the Philoptochos Society, a pillar of the parish whose services range from managing coffee hours and makaria dinners to supporting many philanthropic and civic causes both within and outside the parish.
A parish ministry that goes to the very heart of the religious mission of our Church is the Sunday School program, which teaches the young members of our parish the beliefs and practices of the Greek Orthodox Church and helps lay the foundation of their faith. Other organizations that play important roles in the spiritual and social development of our youth at various age and grade levels are HOPE and JOY, GOYA, and the Young Adult League. The Greek School provides young people of the parish the opportunity to learn the language, history and traditions of the Hellenic culture.
Participation in the Oratorical Festival allows young parishioners to develop their speaking skills, while the tradition of Greek dancing is preserved by the Olympic Flame Dancers. Retreats and camps sponsored by various youth organizations and the Metropolis also contribute to the social and spiritual growth of young members of our Church. Continuing religious education for adult parishioners is provided by Catechism classes, Bible Study classes, and the Concerned Mother’s Group. The Sts. Joachim & Anna Society sponsors various social activities that offer parish members age 55 and above the opportunity to enjoy each other's fellowship.
